The Art of the Steal is a 2009 documentary film about the longstanding financial problems of the Barnes Foundation, a $25-billion collection of mostly Modernist and post- Impressionist artworks, and the foundation officers' successful effort to break Albert C. Barnes's will and move the collection from Lower Merion to downtown Philadelphia.[1] The emphasis of the film is on the breaking of Barnes' will.
